This weeks heading has a twofold purpose! Because I meet so many clients who say things like “I’ve always wanted to travel, but….“.
You know, so many people regret at the end of their life that they did not do more, play more and chose more opportunities to do the things they loved and spend more time with the people they love. For some of you that might all sound a bit fluffy and abstract. But there is something very important harboured in those common regrets and I’ve narrowed it down to two key questions:
- Why do you deserve to have what you really want?
- Why do you need to drive things in order for this to come true?
The other week we touched on knowing what you don’t want, but not being to clear on the rest. I believe this to be true in some cases. More often I believe that some of us just don’t dare to dream too much.
Let’s get really clear on one thing here. You do deserve exactly what you believe you deserve. If you believe that you’re not worth chasing your dream, that actually becomes true. However, if you choose to believe that those things you’ve quietly dreamt of is something that you DO deserve, then that becomes the program of your mind. It’s pretty amazing really. What you believe becomes your reality. Inevitably. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather fill my mind with believing in things that keeps me happy, challenged and growing rather than stuck or unhappy.
If you’ve chosen to believe that you do deserve to have what you really want, then it’s time to tackle the second big point. Action. Nothing will happen unless you take action. When you believe in what you want and deserve, you’ll also find this inspiration from within to keep going. Yes, some days will be really hard. Some days you’ll wish you’d just kept sitting where you were. Because good things always take commitment. But when there is commitment you move past motivation (temporary energy driven by external factors) and the into the sweet and powerful spot of inspiration.
Inspiration is something that comes from you. From that decision you made to be worth it. You’ll need to keep driving and moving to get what you want sometimes. If you do, then you’ll get to experience what you really want in life. Instead of observing from the outside, you get to be. I know that’s the road I would choose. Are you in?
