Life in general tends to raise many questions as you move forward. Relocation and travelling is sometimes even more confusing as life seems to somehow move much faster when you are on your way to the next big adventure. Some of those questions can certainly be answered by other people and the advise you get along the way.
If your travels are anything like mine, you will find yourself in situations from time to time when you simply don’t know what to do next. It can be anything from a job offer to a new relationships or something that’s happened back home.
Before I make a final decision on things these days I tend to use the very powerful questions sometimes referred to as Cartesian questions. They are designed to give you a 360 degree view of the problem you are facing and the options you have. Curious?
Before you make a decision, ask yourself the following:
- What will happen if you do?
- What will happen if you don’t?
- What won’t happen if you do?
- What won’t happen if you don’t?
Even if we don’t always know for 100% sure what will or won’t happen, we usually have a pretty good idea. And more often than not, that’s plenty of information to make a balanced decision on where to go next. So if you are facing a big decision, feel free to use these questions and let me know how you go! Did they raise completely new questions? Or did they help get you more clarity?
